Laser in Dentistry- A Review

Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation, or LASER, is what phrase refers to. In 1960, Miaman was first to apply laser technology on both hard and soft tissues in dentistry. Over past two decades, has advanced significantly. Soft tissue applications include wound healing, removal hyperplastic for uncovering impacted partially erupted teeth, photodynamic therapy malignancies, photostimulation herpetic lesion. Various caries prevention, bleaching, restorative curing, cavity preparation, dentinal hypersensitivity, growth modulation, diagnostic purposes. Although lasers have been shown be slightly more expensive than conventional therapy, they are a useful tool improving effectiveness, specificity, ease, comfort dental treatment.
